I’ve read a lot of home remodeling books, and this is by far the best. I’m in the middle of doing an addition to my home that includes a bathroom, and I’m trying to be my own General Contractor. I’m so glad I stumbled upon this, as I refer to it constantly. I was going to do interior concrete footers, and this book helped me to realize that they may not be necessary. I was going to use some shabby looking lumber, and this book explained that some 2×4’s are better than others and that I have a choice. I like how the table of contents allows me to go directly to the contracting subject that I’m working on at the time. I’m not a DIY kind of person, but this has given me the confidence that I need to make it through this home remodeling project. I wouldn’t say that this is for you if you’re trying to do the renovation work yourself. It’s for people hiring subcontractors.
